After doing a great deal of business with one of our best consignors, he is offering up this civil war cavalry sword/sabre for your inspection and enjoyment. Our consignor says that his family has owned it for 4 generations but beyond that he is unaware of the history. The ricasso is stamped by the maker, c. Roby chelmsford mass. On the opposite side, it is stamped us 1864 a. G.

The blade is in wonderful condition with no pitting or rust. It is extremely stragiht and unsharpened. It has what i would describe as nice beveled lines pu and down. The leather handle is in great condition with the wire wrapping still intact. We've pictured the crack in the leather thta runs the length of the grip. The guard has a classic mustard patina and has a separation/crack in it (pictured). The pommel cap is marekd m. hTe scabbard is in excellent condition with some scattered uneven/rough spots. I can't tell you what a thrill it is to be able to offer up this type of article. We've sold alot of antiques for this family and we are blessed that they would think enough of us and ebay to offer this to you today.
